This week in Lynchburg (Sep 9-15)

170 or so events this week. Two four-day runs open Thursday and close Sunday, the Elvis festival at the Academy and the county fair out in Amherst. Saturday stacks up, with a free community festival at Miller Park, a river cleanup, the Loft Life tour downtown and the start of the Water Dog's tenth birthday weekend. Parks and Rec opens its fall dance and fitness season Monday and Tuesday with a run of free try-it classes at the Miller Center and Templeton, so if you've been meaning to start something, this is the week it costs nothing. Friday is Patriot Day, and the Rotary flag display goes up on Graves Mill Road for the rest of the month. If I'm missing something, or you've got an event you're hosting or want to share, let me know.
